Terminal 1 area of the airport will be transformed completely once the expansion work is complete. Phase 3A of the expansion project include fourth runway, dual elevated taxiway (parallel taxiway and cross taxiway), associated airside and cityside developments. Delhi Internation Airport Limited (DIAL) which operates the airport, is investing Rs 9,800 crore for this expansion. The expansion work which is scheduled to be completed by June 2022, will take the overall capacity of the airport to 100 million per annum against 70 million currently. The expansion is aimed to enhance the flying experience for travellers. New Delhi: Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) is all set for expansion which will make it future-ready. ![]() ![]() Under this expansion drive, Departure Terminal 1D and Arrival Terminal 1C will be merged and expanded to accommodate 40 million passengers per annum.
